A native of San Diego, Camille began ballet at the age of four at BalletcenterWest and continued on to train extensively throughout the United States at schools including California Ballet School (on merit scholarship), Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, Boston Ballet School, The Washington School of Ballet, and the Jillana School.
Camille McPherson is currently in her eighth season with the San Diego Ballet, where she has been featured in principal roles in Artistic Director Javier Velasco’s The Jungle Book, Three Sketches of Latin America and The Seven Beauties, and in soloist roles in the company’s diverse array of classical and contemporary repertoire, including Sweet Synergy Suite, Song of Songs, Que Bonito Amor, Tangata, Time Further Out, Homegrown, White in White, Reflections and Hope, 24 Preludes, The Nutcracker, De Los Muertos, and Mambomania. Her performances have earned her press features in the San Diego Union Tribune, Jazz Blues News, and the San Diego Reader, as well as television features on KUSI and PBS.
Prior to joining the San Diego Ballet, Camille danced in professional productions with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre as a member of the company’s prestigious Graduate Program and with California Ballet as an Apprentice. Camille has taught extensively throughout San Diego and has broad experience with a diverse range of ages and levels. Her students have won awards in national competitions and have been
accepted into programs with the Joffrey Ballet School, The Rock School for Dance Education, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Ballet Austin, BalletMet and the Jillana School, among others.
